4 more months!

a girl

i haven't drawn a human-like creature in so long that i actually wanted to see if i still have it in me.
the end result - not so bad. i'm actually quite happy i gave it a try.
audrey kawasaki was, of course, a huge inspiration.
i want to draw more girls now.

i'm actually quite happy with how it turned out (which is rare for me)...

art experiments

i never thought of myself to be much of an artist. a doodler maybe.
nonetheless, i do like experimenting with the things i draw.
i tried going for a slightly different style with Jasmine (yes, excuse me if she bears no resemblance but the first PS painting is supposed to be Jasmine from Aladdin)... only that i'm not too sure i'm happy with it. something looks off but i just can't point to it at the moment.
the first doodle is supposed to be a hijabi girl (only that initially it wasn't - i intended for her to have weird plant-like structures growing out of her head).
as always, i probably abused the use of filters in both the cases. what would my life be like without filters?

i've been thinking of getting a bowl cut lately.
yes, it's probably the most asexual, infantile hairstyle imaginable, but i find it cute.
it's relatively easy to maintain which is always a plus.
the only two problems that i'm seeing at the moment are that -
a) i might regret it the second it's done. i've been trying to grow my hair out for a while now and it has finally reached the shoulder-length level. so yeah, chopping it off at this point might cause heartache.
b) bowl-cuts tend to grow out of shape quite fast and going for regular trims is a pain.
c) i secretly want really long hair again.

so i initially just started with Banana Love (which i have modified from the initial banana Brushes finger-painting). however, these are such great fun to paint (and actually managed to cheer me up considerably) so i decided to continue with the mini-series.
i am planning to add on a few more fruit specimens so stay tuned. =D

i've been on a "creative hiatus" for so long that i actually decided to make something simple and silly today just to get going. so here it is... the Dreamy Dino. =)
