Yanni in Concert
Yesterday, Hamza and I went to see Yanni in Concert and wow... it was purely awesome.
This might be a bit embarrassing to admit but it was actually my first live concert experience ever. I have watched a number of live performances on television and I remember being disappointed many a time because the "stars" were almost never as good as they appeared on their studio recorded albums.
With Yanni this luckily wasn't the case. It really made me happy because at least it means that there are still some true artists out there.
Yanni's entourage is amazing too. I particularly liked the male violinist.
I have to say that I was hoping he'd perform a few more of my beloved pieces (Nostalgia being one of them), but oh well.
I hope to see him again next year. =)

Child's Own Studio - turning children's drawings into toys!
THIS is probably one of the most awesome ideas anyone has ever come up with.
Child's Own Studio makes custom toys based on children's own drawings.
yes! all you need to do is submit your child's masterpiece and it will be rendered into a soft toy he or she can play with.
here are a some samples -
neat, huh?

bowl cuts and Fabienne
"A bowl cut, also known as a pot haircut, or a mushroom cut, is a haircut where the hair is cut short on the sides and back and looking as though someone put a bowl on the head and cut off all the visible hair." (Wikipedia, 2011)
Fabienne's bowl cut
i've been thinking of getting a bowl cut lately.
yes, it's probably the most asexual, infantile hairstyle imaginable, but i find it cute.
it's relatively easy to maintain which is always a plus.
the only two problems that i'm seeing at the moment are that -
a) i might regret it the second it's done. i've been trying to grow my hair out for a while now and it has finally reached the shoulder-length level. so yeah, chopping it off at this point might cause heartache.
b) bowl-cuts tend to grow out of shape quite fast and going for regular trims is a pain.
c) i secretly want really long hair again.
here's my rendition of Fabienne from Pulp Fiction.

old clothes and liquid diet
so i seriously feel like getting rid of half of my clothes and only keeping the ones i really like.
i stress on the word "really" because each time that i actually get around to cleaning my wardrobe i end up re-folding all those clothes i never wear and putting them back in. why do i do that? maybe because i feel guilty about not having worn them enough or (which is more likely) i just end up convincing myself that i'll wear them "some day" and that i actually like them...
in other news, i've been eating so much junk lately that i have actually decided to go on the long-overdue liquid diet. now, a few concerns - i have never actually done an all-liquid diet and i have a stressful day ahead of me. also, where and how am i supposed to get/prepare vegetable broth?
yeah, i hope i last the day. so far i've had green tea and my stomach is already in knots.

We Love Ducks!
so this is quite possibly the most awesome site there is...
site review - so this person (people... whoever it is) has basically turned various movie and TV show characters that we have grown to either love or hate into ducks. the duck illustration is the main template; however, specific characteristics are added to represent each character's individuality.
call it lame. i call it awesome.

because i love chickens! chicken glamour shots.
so the ordinary folk probably won't understand why seeing these photographs got me so excited.
i'm not sure which of these i like better. they kind of remind me of the chickens i used to see during the summers spent at the Polish countryside.
